These come in a variety of colours (not just due to use). Great item to have, and still reasonably cheap to get.
Great photos as well smile

Just imagine putting a helmet on your head or touching the vehicle in that heat...I can. It's 36'c here and metal is damn near untouchable without gloves on.
Great image!

Re: Wash Bowl with Pictures

As for the washing bowl i agree that they are nice looking items. I also wanted to get one but could never find one in a used condition. All the examples that i had stumbled across were mint unissued.

Re: Wash Bowl with Pictures

Hey Max,

I just double checked on this - if you have the Robert Kurtz book on Afrika Korps uniforms have a look on
page 260, this shows two versions of the collapsible bowls and the lighter tan one on the right is apparently
made of rubberised canvas and does appear to be bigger than the green one in the photo.  Unfortunately
there is very little text in the book to describe these items.

The new photo that I've posted is supposed to be from Ramcke Brigade - I was assuming they were Luftwaffe bowls but
looking at the Kurtz book they may very well be a larger Heer version.  I'm pretty sure that the Luftwaffe had their own
larger collapsible bucket - if you look at the AK Forum banner I think you can see the base of one next to the Luftwaffe
Tropenhelm.

The question now is did the Luftwaffe have their own collapsible bowl?  Or is the new photo showing what could be two of the
larger rubberised canvas Heer bowls?  Quite possible knowing that Luftwaffe units made much use of Heer uniforms and equipment.

Anyone know if the Luftwaffe had their own collapsible water bowl?

Regards Markus
