Re: M42 Tunic Opinions

I ve bought it on saturday, its a havy worn original 1st pattern tunic, i think its a tunic that was worn through the pw time. You can clearly see that the extra button hole is hand stitched and makes sense in this case.

eagle and collar litzen were ripped off, the eagle was in the pocket, the litzen i bought the same day on a forum.

You are right mark, shoulder strap bridles are replaced, some other repairs i can see also but im very happy with it, when do you find a 1st pattern tunic to buy for that price ?

some detail fotos, i will make better ones when the tunic is complete again

Agreed - POW used or post-war. The eagle was pinned in a scrap book or on a display cabinet at some point - what a pity!

Not so bad for me, better than a „Kammerstück“ wink

Re: M42 Tunic Opinions

Well done Max, a good price for a first pattern tunic.

Stitching on the extra collar button hole certainly looks to be a later addition as we had thought would probably be the case.

Gut gemacht.

Markus

P.S. Be very careful when searching for shoulder straps for the tunic - there have been some very well made repros advertised
as originals.
