Interesting tropical shoulder strap

I saw this interesting tropical Panzer NCO shoulder strap whilst browsing through eBay.

The reverse of the strap was what drew my attention as it looks like the moths have done a pretty neat job of
uncovering how this strap was assembled....

Re: Interesting tropical shoulder strap

Thanks for the comments guys smile

As you can see the piping edge that would normally be visible when viewing the top of the strap is almost completely eaten away.

I thought initially the piping was red but IMO on closer inspection it appears the remnants are a dark shade of pink for Panzertruppen.

With the price of tropical straps I don't think I'll be dissecting any of mine...

Regards Markus.

Re: Interesting tropical shoulder strap

I've shown this strap from my collection before, which is an undamaged item of the same rank and branch of service.

Anyway just for comparison, here it is again.  You'll note the different shade of the top deck fabric!

Re: Interesting tropical shoulder strap

Re: Interesting tropical shoulder strap

That’s nearly the price for a single complete strap

Re: Interesting tropical shoulder strap

I suppose it all depends on supply and demand - what is available at a given time and what someone is prepared to pay.

There are a number of unissued singles out there at the moment with dealers who are asking in excess of €300 - though I note they haven't sold despite being
listed months ago.

Regards Markus
