Tropical Feuerwerker Abzeichen

Hi folks, some photo's of some more tropical Heer specialist badges in my collection.

These are Feuerwerker Abzeichen, or in English pyrotechnician / ammunition specialist badges.

Apparently Feuerwerker specialists were allocated to a range of different army units including, supply,
artillery, infantry etc.

The badge was to be worn on the right forearm of the tunic, as was the case with the medical specialist badges I posted recently. You can still pick
these Feuerwerker badges up for a very reasonable price.

However, I've still yet to find a photo of a tropical Feuerwerker badge being worn on a tropical tunic in any WWII theatre, so if you've got one
out there, please post it smile

Anyway, here are the photo's of 3 main types of badges:

Front of the badges - the one on the left is for the tropical Mantel (greatcoat / overcoat) whilst the middle and one on the right are for
the tunic.

Here is the reverse view of the same badges.

Regards Markus

Re: Tropical Feuerwerker Abzeichen

Thanks for the comments guys smile

IMO any period photo's of Heer tropical specialist badges being worn on tunics or greatcoats are noteworthy and
would be worthwhile posting on the Forum for the benefit of the collecting community.

Regards Markus.
