US Dust Mask Dated 1942

I just acquired this ugly little necessary item for driving in dusty arid conditions. It is dated April 1942 and except for a bit of mothing on the felt filter it is in pretty good condition! Hope you will enjoy!   Barron cool

Re: US Dust Mask Dated 1942

Yeah,  pretty ugly but definitely something that would have been heavily used by US forces! The following is the main replacement type that I picked up a while back and hadn't shown because it was made just after the African campaign was over. Hasn't even had the openings for the eyes cut out!  hmm  Hope you will enjoy this one too!   Barron smile

Re: US Dust Mask Dated 1942

I always try to get the ugliest and funniest looking items! Wonder how many deer were sacrificed for the war effort and what was done with the venison? Did the Germans have anything like this, or did they just used neckerchiefs and scarves for protection against dust or extreme temperatures?  hmm  Barron
