Another Imperial German Tropenhelm

Can't believe I found another German Tropenhelm with Neck Protector tongue
The thing is with this Tropenhelm it is a white blancoed version for Colonial Military Police but came with the proper Military tan coloured
Neck Protector the same colour as my other Imperial Tropenhelm, imagine that! Just most of the white blanco has come off or was removed
at some stage, not sure if it was done at the time as who ever did it did a pretty good job with not much left at all. So whether it was a re-issue to
Infantry or not later in the war with shortages in supplies etc?

So now I can put the white Neck Protector that I already had with the new Tropenhelm and the new Neck Protector with the first Tropenhelm.
So the photos below show the correct Neck Protectors now with the correct Tropenhelms. I also was able to find two cockades for these helmets an EM
version plus an officers version, the white band on the tan version is just a mock up at this stage but gives you the idea of what a complete original of the
time would have looked like.

The Military Police Tropenhelm is the square back version with the feature to fold upwards when in a prone position as not to rub on the shoulders or back, so
also nice to now have both versions of this rare Imperial German helmet. This new helmet has the same logo stamp on the leather band but also has another
on the other side LUDWIG BORTFELDT BREMEN plus this is also stamped on the female part of the screw fitting for the top dome on the inside.
I also found out that the tan Tropenhelm with the white metal Colonial Eagle on the front would have been for a Pioneer Unit as they had all white metal
hardware, and white metal buttons on their tunics as well, all the others would have had brass.
So now I will have to mock up the correct band for the Pioneers which was the same as Artillery with black band and red piping top and bottom.
Just the Imperial Crown on the badge on the Military Police Tropenhelm has broken off at some stage.

The new Tropenhelm has some other stamps but they are a bit hard to read, the tan Neck Protector has had it's stamp scrubbed out. There is no problem with
this, I have seen other WW1 German uniform pieces with this done it was a common practice when reissued to another unit. If I remember correctly my
Pre-WW1 Saxon Blue tunic has this done a couple of times with new dates & units stamped below each one.

The last photo is a little window back in history and shows you what the actual correct colour of the WW1 Imperial Tropical Uniforms would have looked like.
As I mentioned in the earlier post that my tunic is actually just a summer weight tunic that was originally light grey in colour and has faded but very likely
worn in the middle east with the sand painted buttons.

I sampled the colour of the tan coloured Tropenhelm in photoshop and went over the uniform to get the colour match correct.
