Re: Japanese & U.S.M.C. Helmets

Nice pick ups from the flea market Rich, i like the tropical tunic & the leather holster.
I'll have to get a Japanese display up & running again sometime, i have some OR's boots & the bread bag at this stage.

Oh and an NCO issued sword that my fathers uncle brought back from New Guinea, i may have mentioned this before?

Cheers
Stu

Re: Japanese & U.S.M.C. Helmets

Great stuff! The japanese flags are a great background too. All the US camo is spectacular. I will have to dig some of my US camo out too and add to the thread. I have some US Army camo as well as USMC patterns. Thanks for showing your amazing collection.

Re: Japanese & U.S.M.C. Helmets

What a great thread. Love all of it.
A horrible campaign (ie: more vicious than other arenas) but the Pacific needs more promotion in regards to the collectability of items brought home by the survivors...
Thanks Rich.

Re: Japanese & U.S.M.C. Helmets

I second that Mark! You have a most interesting collection Rich. Thanks for sharing it with us. My dad was an artillery capt. in the Phillipines in 45 so I have a special interest in that campaign and all of the Pacific Theatre.

Re: Japanese & U.S.M.C. Helmets

Green very hard to find. I have a worn one somewhere. They were probably used up during the war. I never see mint green ones like I do the camos which is surprising.
