Re: 1.pattern tunik!

Hi Thomas,

lange nicht gesehen smile

You've certainly put some work into this restoration and the tailor has done a pretty neat job, especially sewing the tropical collar Tresse and Litzen.

The Litzen seem to be the same shade that are on my 2nd pattern tunic (these were also a restoration - by a previous owner).

If it was me I'd probably have a regular Spange (ribbon bar) rather than the Nahkampfspange for a correct Afrika Korps Panzer impression.

Silber Panzerkampfabzeichen?

Thanks for posting.

Regards Markus

P.S. Watch out for the high end shoulder strap reproductions coming out of Europe at the moment - there are a lot and some of the more recent ones are quite
convincing.

Correct my friends but I think that, after having examined the exact details of the straps, we must have a correct sense of proportion and make sure we do not throw the baby out with the bath water.
Don't you think you had some little variations on the uniforms making at that time? long before computers arrived ...

Re: 1.pattern tunik!

Hi Thomas,
Commendable job. Nice attractive tunic - but may I just say the eagle generally would not be sewn in that fashion for a 1st pattern. The entire area which has been zig/zag machine sewn should be hand finished, even though this is a later 1941/42 tunic.

Let me be the boobird on this one. The tunic was a nice original that now has been messed with too much imo.

Re: 1.pattern tunik!

Personally, I would cut back on the medals, remove the CCC and replace it with a ribbon bar. Otherwise tailor done an excellent sewing job, maybe resew the breast eagle
