Re: Tropical Luftwaffe NCO tunic shoulder straps infantry

Hi bicho31,

Thanks for posting the photo's of your straps.   It might just be me, but I'm not comfortable with some of the features, such
as the fabric on the underside of the tongues (and the damage) and the button hole stitching.

I'm sure that other forum members will also respond and it would be great to have some other opinions.

By the way, these straps were intended to be Heer (army) enlisted men's straps - either FLAK or Infantry.  These are normally
very hard to find and quite expensive.  Are you able to let us know how much they cost?

Regards Markus

They came in a very worn M43 heer DAK jacket. The appearance on the hand is very good, I am surprised by negative opinions. I bought the tunic some years ago on Dave's page.neutralneutral

Re: Tropical Luftwaffe NCO tunic shoulder straps infantry

Sorry to be the deliverer of sad news but unfortunately there are many, many repro's out there and they are getting better and better.  Quite often
what looks to be original fabric twill, piping and underside field gray wool is used on the high end reproductions.

If it's any consolation I and many other collectors have unfortunately been stung at some stage sad

There are many topics on the Forum where straps are discussed in detail.  The unfortunate thing is that you need to be able
to identify the characteristics of the real items and the red flags of the reproductions.

This takes time and may not be easy to master, the makers of these straps are continuously fine tuning their products to get
acceptance.

Then we will all wait in anticipation of a 'beehive' of tropical shoulder straps to suddenly be discovered yikes

Regards Markus
