Australian Army Colour Patches

Hi, I've found these charts, which show the colour patches which were used to identify different units of the Australian Army during WWII.

Colour patches were initially introduced in the Australian Army in during WWI and were continued to be used throughout WWII.  The easiest way to distinguish
a WWI patch from one used in WWII is that the Second World War patches have a grey background and are slightly larger.

Colour patches were worn on the upper arms of the Australian tunic and on the pugaree of the slouch hat.  Anyway here are the charts - although not covering every finite
detail, they provide a good guide to the major units.

If you want more details you can click on the following link smile

...and of course if you have one (or more) in your collection and are able to post it please do so smile

Regards Markus
