Was looking for my German camo 'chute panel. Had to empty the box to find it. Pic of box contents. Rich A. in Pa.

Re: Cardboard box of stuff

Love the Hitler Skunk figurines - never saw these before!
I was under the impression that the 'zeltbahn' tent peg bags were post-war Swiss - can anyone give some information on that?
I think a day or two rooting through your storage box's would be a lot of fun, Rich!

Re: Cardboard box of stuff

Mark, yes, most of the camouflage tent pole bags are of Swiss manufacture. They have a distinctive Swiss National Cross in a shield marking, often in red ink. I have yet to come acrossed one that didn't have that marking, but I have not looked at more than 20 so I don't know for sure! They seam to often have wartime dates and maybe were made for German use? The Germans and Swiss did have some trade relations in some military items such as  optics-range finders, survey equipment and a few other items.   Barron

Re: Cardboard box of stuff

These are maker marked. 1 or 2 are dated. I do not think they are marked with a cross. Rich A. in Pa.

Re: Cardboard box of stuff

Here is a common example of the markings and an example of what can be done to deceive (I bought it cheap)!  Barron

This is the only marked one. The last thing I put in this box was 1996. Rich A. in Pa.

Re: Cardboard box of stuff

Very interesting! Looks like it has a poorly done ink stamp between the buttons but also the red ink date markings like mine! hmm  Barron

Re: Cardboard box of stuff

Yes those remnants of the stamp are for sure a Swiss cross in shield.
