Another One.

Hi Team,
Although I'm not posting a great deal these days I'm still about. A few things have turned up this year, some special, some reasonably common.
This is a common old belt set that walked into the work-shop yesterday. It's another NZ soldier's souvenir that either saw hard service in the field or post-war "'war-games' with dad's old belt". Either way, I just love it. I can just make out the GB over 40 which I expected from the sewing of the tab and paint colour.
They don't all have to be show pony's - just original smile

Re: Another One.

Very nice Mark. Prefer them like that over the minty unissued ones any day.

Re: Another One.

I did! I handled both on Saturday at a Show. The green one is painted green - it is an early olive example but it's been fiddled with. The officer's example is nice - too minty for my taste's but also a small size. The m35 camo (same seller) was a very good helmet many years ago. It's been post war painted grass green (some traces left) then some years ago someone has decided to go at it with paint stripper. They've taken it too far on the crown and removed everything back to the base metal - no patina, nothing. A real shame - with some care it could have been the centre of attention in any collection.
