German Tobacco items

Thought I would present here a couple of the common necessities of life in military service for many men such as tobacco. A nasty condition pipe and a couple of tax stamped packages one of tobacco (50 grams) and one of 24 cigarettes with nice tropical art scenes. Enjoy! big_smile  Barron     (Would you believe the tobacco even smells good! cool)

Re: German Tobacco items

Very interesting big_smile Always nice to have some idea of trail of ownership! Were there some others as I also bought some cigarette papers etc. about the same time. Only problem is that since E-Bay has become exclusive with PayPal I don't make copies of everything as I don't have an on-line operating printer. sad  Barron

Re: German Tobacco items

Forget it Nicos. Tobacco goes bad after some time and tiny, white worms are building a colony inside.
I remember, a friend of mine bought 2 boxes of Camel cigarettes from the airport years ago. They must had been sitting in the warehouse for a long time and when he lit up a cigarette you could feel something tickling your tongue. If you checked the filter you could see many tiny holes. The fire and smoke made the worms to escape lol

Re: German Tobacco items

Funny thoughts! big_smile I am not a smoker either and generally don't like the smell of tobacco, but surprisingly as I mentioned the FlaFla example has a tiny leak and the tobacco that spilled smells more like the good stuff used for pipes which is what I suspect it is for? hmm Lots of writing to figure out but no cigarettes mentioned that I could tell! cool

Re: German Tobacco items

Thank you for your nice comments on the previous items. Here is one last item of related items to be displayed here-cigarette rolling papers. Somebody earlier had posted some but not in detail, so I thought with this subject I would show my example! Hope you will enjoy! smile   Barron

Re: German Tobacco items

I'm not really a collector, (I do not have space), but coincidentally come to me as gift items peer and family reenacment.
This box was a gift, says the former owner who was found in an old house in a rickety furniture, the most romantic thoughts cloud our mind !!!! He was a member of the Condor Legion? ... it was reused
by the people? .... I arrived this article as imported into Spain ?, in any case is incredible fineness of the box, your name does not depart from those used by the German tobacco, always nostalgic with oriental and exotic world, but this time ....... .......... MANOLI used here in Spain as female, or family / pet name of MANUEL, particularly my grandfather called my uncle MANOLI !!!! haha !!!

Re: German Tobacco items

Thank you Vidal for your interesting contribution to this subject! Here are some more common German tobacco items- a six cigarette pack with wartime tax stamp affixed of Juno brand. Wonder if there is a connection to the name of landing beach at Normandy? roll   Barron
