Veterans Reserve Leiutenant's Tunic

This is my only continental wool tunic for this site. It is a bit moth eaten which is partially why I stopped collecting wool! Added shooter's lanyard to tunic many years ago and didn't want to damage board to get it off! Hope you all enjoy!smile

Re: Veterans Reserve Leiutenant's Tunic

Hi friends.

Barron i think the secondary grey layer on the boards has confused you.

This is not a tunic for a reserved officer. It's a HV (Heeresverwaltung) tunic.

The officials were members of the army and subject to military laws.  At the same time, they held the status of Reich Civil Service officials.  The Beamte wore army uniforms and had ranks comparable to their military counterparts.  In addition, there were four career levels, which were based on their training and education. These career levels were indicated by the collar tabs.

See this example which has the piping around the Litzen:

Furthermore regarding the eagle:

Army administrators did not follow uniforms regulations very well. Here is another HV tunic with an EM/NCO eagle.

Re: Veterans Reserve Leiutenant's Tunic

Are there any markings inside? Or a slit for an officer's dagger?

Re: Veterans Reserve Leiutenant's Tunic

Wow don! Thank you for the clarification on the service and your examples (especially concerning the breast eagle)! I was hoping someone would know what exactly it was. Would they have been able to tell another branches (other than police) person of lower rank what to do in an emergency situation? Would they have been noncombatants? roll
